monday morning mixtape.

Hey there! Happy Monday!

I decided I needed a photo for these posts and managed to find an old cassette tape. How weird is it that my daughter will never actually make a mixtape for anyone? That was such a huge part of my high school experience... <sigh>

Anyway, this Thanksgiving week I bring you songs that sound like home, winter, and family.

Feist's "Mushaboom" (p.s. how much do you love this video?!)

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' "Home"

Dar Williams' "The Christians and the Pagans"

Also, I happened to stumble upon another blog that does mixtapes on Monday, too. It made me a little sad at first -- but I guess the more great music, the merrier, right? Hope on over to little chief honeybee to see what she's playing this week!

  1. LOVE Mushaboom...I just did a post on that song the other day (http://thefunkyjunkieblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/collecting-moments-one-by-one.html). :) Feist just put a new album out--I can't wait to check it out!

  3. She & Him's Holiday Albums is going to be great. PS. I made many a mix tape in my high school years too, and once, embarrassingly, recorded my friends and I talking about my crush. Then it played out loud to everyone at a party. In hindsight, I should totally have mailed that story to Seventeen Magazine!!

  6. Love mixed tape Mondays! Feist is a favorite around here - I have the youtube video of her singing 1234 on Sesame Street bookmarked for the Bean. :)
