Besides visiting family and a trip to Colorado last summer when Jason had a conference to attend, we've managed to take only one vacation together as a family of three - and it happened last week. Except for Lorelei's difficulty with sleeping since we got back (which almost negates all the happiness - it's that bad), it was an amazing week. A few pics to share (I'll try not to go too crazy!):
If you take a trip to Door County, WI (which I highly recommend - we spent our honeymoon there!), make sure you schedule time for the following:
coffee and breakfast sandwiches at the Blue Horse Cafe
an afternoon (or morning, or all day!) at Whitefish Dunes State Park beach
cheese fries and a malt at Wilson's
if you have kids, a few hours at The Farm
window shopping at Fred Boutique and Brilliant Stranger in Fish Creek
mini-golf at Pirate's Cove
there are dozens of great restaurants, though we're partial to The Summertime's patio
and two great places to stay: Eagle Harbor Inn and the Edgewater Resort
Looks like you had a great trip! That was where Matt and I took our one and only semi-vacation. It was kind of a nightmare, mixed with good memories. Reservations being cancelled, a flat tire, being at the mercy of friends who suddenly didn't really seem up for the task, but we saw great sites, enjoyed each other's company, made some art and I left some foundart behind. We are taking a camping trip with a group of friends shortly, but we often say we'd like to take another vacation up there again just the two of us.
ReplyDeleteAwwww sounds like so much fun! I love exploring fun towns like that!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture -SO good! x
ReplyDeleteLorelei's dresses are soooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteLorelei's face in that first picture, and in the one with you, is priceless! If those two are any indication, she had a pretty amazing time. I hope the sleep challenges have passed!
