currently | pity party avoidance

I bugged a friend of mine yesterday to update her blog because she hadn't in a while. Then she called me out and said I needed to do the same thing. The thing is, I have a million posts to share with you - Phoebe's birth story, some Make a Mess Monday ideas, updates about my girls and my Etsy shop - but I have no time to write them the way I really want to.

But the real reason I haven't been blogging is that life is super hard at the moment, and I don't feel like throwing myself a pity party where you feel like you have to comment and tell me "it's going to be okay." I know it will, eventually. But right now it pretty much sucks.

So, instead of listing off the ways in which I am miserable at the moment, here are some positives from the past few weeks to reassure you that I am still alive and kicking:

1. I got an awesome care package in the mail from Margaux.
2. Lorelei is in an "I love you sooooo much" phase which increases my daily smile quotient.
3. I've been to the store all by myself at least once a week for the past three weeks.
4. There are new episodes of Bones on Netflix.
5. I found Honeycrisp apple cider at the grocery store and it is really, really good.

That's all I can think of. Hope it, and these pics of the girls, tide you over until we meet again, blog world.

  1. Honey crisp apple cider and those adorable faces....sounds pretty amazing.

I love these little updates, but I totally understand. I've given up any effort to blog regularly or well, and I don't have a newborn in addition to my toddler.

  2. Your list of positives is really great, but as for everything else it WILL be okay. : ) And we don't mind if you need to vent. : )

  3. Honeycrisp apples are my favorite. I'll have to look or some! Your girls are SO precious, but you know that! :) I like your way of thinking. I should probably focus on positives more too. I think it's this lack of sunshine that's got me in a gloomy mood lately.

  4. Wow my package made the list! And I love Bones. Steve bought me a whole bunch of bootleg seasons when he was in Iraq ha.

  5. your blog is my favourite because of this: your honesty and your realism, your love for your girls and your passion for literature.

Kepp on truckin', Courtney, we'll be here when you get back :)

  6. Courtney... [hugs]... I've been right there with you. Except I don't have any drafted posts. And I'm very, very behind on keeping up in blogland. I hope things are a bit easier now, or that they will be soon. I think of you often and wonder how life with two is for you, if I'm just being a wimp sometimes or if it really can be this hard. xx
